Liteon 5001 warning

Just thought to mention this in case some people go blindingly into buying the Liteon 5001B model from Currys, that "half price" offer.

I only really noticed this when I casually walked into the local store where I always look at the connections on the back of the machines, something I learnt from buying a vhs recorder a number of years ago with no real connections on the back at all.

Anyways I was very surprised after reading up on the model to find that after checking out the rear of the 5001B model that it had non of the connections I had read about. In fact all I could really see was 2 scart & an RCA connection.

So just got onto the Liteon website to find that there are in fact 3 versions of the 5001 model, the B model being most inferior feature wise it seems. Thus the reason why it's being sold on the cheap I'd guess.

So just a note to inform people to fully check out what your buying feature & connectability wise as you will be very dissapointed by the lack of things with the 5001B model.

i returned mine just for it being generally shite,and the non ability to play any of the dvds i recorded on my other standalones.
and the last reason being its about £50 cheaper buying it on the net from just about anywhere that still sells it.

Yeah, seems so (we get screwed yet again it seems!!!. But I for one was nearly sold on the specs I had read & those specs were not the B pal model but the general spec & that was on UK web sites too & that really annoyed me that some uk sites were lasting features from the non-pal version!.

But currys do sell 2 of the models prehaps. Guess the one thats £15 more is only cos it has the discs with it?. But they are listed as: LVW5001B & LVW-5001 http://www.currys.co.uk/martprd/store/cur_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@0335815580.1089617...&show_all=true

Could just ask them but Currys sales staff never seem sure about any products they sell unless it's an X-Box or Playstation 2.
