  1. Hi ya,

I was wondering if anyone knows if Vegas 5.0 can import full dvds or even just the vob files. I tried changing the extention names from vob to mpg but the sound wont import with the video. I think the sound is dolby 2.0.

Any ideas on how to do this?

    thanks

  2. Ok, I used the TMPGenc DVD author to make a mpg file of the Dvd. When I used Vegas to import the clip, only the video was reconized.....no sound...

    any thoughts?

  3. vegas cant import (decode) ac3 sound, it has to be in wav or mpeg1 audio format

appears to be a software limitation

demultiplexing would not improve the situation, vegas doesnt take elementary mpeg2 video streams at all, must be a program stream or a vob from what ive found

  4. When I import DVDs into Vegas, I convert the VOBs to AVIs with DVD2AVI. I also convert the sound from AC3 to MP3. You then can put it all into Vegas.
