  2. I use a combination of Ad Aware and Spybot, that usually does the trick.

Sometimes things can only be cleared by the programs after a restart so that might be the case with this.

In spybot, you need to immunize, so that you don't get gator again.

SP2 is supposed to eliminate a lot of these problems, 3 to note :

    - ActiveX controls: the dialog will no longer popup automatically. Users must specifically click on the pageholder to install controls
    - Downloadable Files: The file download ability can only be initiated by a user click.
    - Popup Windows: These may now only be initiated by a user action, not automatically, and only one popup will be created

  6. Even with Kerio, Adaware, SpyBot, and Norton AV I still got slammed with other day... And the above apps did not remove them all.

I had to go in hack my registry ONCE I found out the problem. If you are running XP type MSCONFIG at the Start / Run prompt. Click on the start up tab and review all those goodies that are loading at start up and compare them to this web site.

Hello-Try HijackThis, it works pretty good. When IEsixing it in treacherous conditions, turn off the ActiveX and JavaScript.
