Im trying to figure out dvdlab. i wanna make an intro screen right before the movie starts. Probably use one of the premade backgrounds with some text/date along with the THX sound piece. I have the mp3 version of THX but dvd lab wont accept it since its not in MP2,AC3, or wav. I also have a wav but it wont accept it either. Anyone have any advice or suggestions?

Your wav probably has the wrong frequency. Needs to be 48kHz. dBpowerAMP Music Converter is a simple, fast and free tool that can do the conversion.

is there a tool where i can rip the THX sound right from a DVD? I know Star Wars has that sound so maybe i rip it from there and still maintain the surround sound.

Yes, there are plenty of tools. I use Vobrator.
If you know which VOB it is in, you can even extract it directly from the DVD with DVD Decrypter in IFO mode. -
i downloaded that program but it wont work in either ME or XP. The program loads up but as soon as i select a vob file from the VIDEO_TS folder it errors out and closes.

Yeah, I've seen many people report bugs with Vobrator. Not sure why, it has always worked great for me on my XP. I guess I'm lucky.
Vobedit can also do it and DVD-Lab too. I like Vobrator because it has a preview and can extract only the part you want, no need to demux the whole VOB. See if you can make it work, if not, try the other tools I mentioned.
