  1. Anyone know of a video player (plays mpg and avi) where u can open up multiple windows at the same time. I'm capturing video with various setting and I want to pull up 4 windows of the same program so I can compare the images side by side. My windows media player only allows 1 version up at a time. I tried using different players at the same time but each player show the image slightly different quality so that dont work.

    Thanks,

  2. Version 6.4 of Windows Media Player allows you to open each media file in a separate window. It ships with all Windows XP systems and can be found in:

    C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\mplayer2.exe

After starting the player select View -> Options. Select the Player tab, and check "Open an new player for each media file played".

If you make it your default player you can just click on filenames to open them. Or you can just open multiple instances of the program (make a shortcut on your desktop?) and drag and drop files to the players.

Playback isn't coordinated. That is, you have to start and stop each one yourself. It would be nice if someone had a synchronized dual video player!

  3. Hey thanks that would almost work for me the problem is that when I put it in repeat mode (I repeat about 10s clips). If always freezes at the beginning of the clip. That is tha video does, the audio keeps playing and the little marker that shows where the movies frame is at, keeps movie but the video gets stuck on the first frame, any idea what could be causing this?

    Thanks,
