Premiere 6.5 rendering problem

I'm haveing a problem after rendering my video in premiere 6.5. Before the avi's rendered it shows fine in the preview window. after i render it, all is shows is a black screen in the preview window, but the audio still works. does anyone have any idea what this could be. i'm really new to premiere, but i did use it a few times on my old computer and didn't have this problem.
I'm also useing windows xp...dont know if that matters

never mind. i think i figured it out. the video was caputred in 320x240 and the render setting was at 720x480.
