    Is it possible to play a dvd+rw, +r on a recorder that records only dvd-r, dvd-rw?

    Don't know about other models but my JVC M10S played several +Rs without any problems. OTOH, it did not recognize a +RW I had lying around.

    Some machines can and some cannot play both the DVD+R DVD+RW with the usual DVD-R and DVD-RW. So you have to check.

    My Pioneer DVR-510H DVD recorder can only only record and play DVD-R and DVD-RW discs.
