Unable to update firmware on Pioneer DVR-107D

When trying to update my Pioneer DVR-107D with the latest firmware, I get the following error.

Start updating the device No.1.
Current Revision>> PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-107D 1.13 04/03/24
Now updating the firmware.
Please do not turn off the power and do not reset the pc.
Processing 100% --> Data transfer complete
Now internal re-flashing...
Failed to move to the normal mode.
New Revision >> PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-107 0000 00/00/00
Update program is terminated by occuring an error.

When I reboot, the firmware reverts back to 1.13
Anyone know what the problem is.

Took me few to times to flash A106 every time I flashed newer firmware. Try again?

Thanks for your help, I since discovered that when I tried to burn my first DVD on my new drive that I got an ASPI failure. I resolved the problem by doing a clean install of XP on a spare drive and the flash worked first time. I guess it is time to reinstall XP on my main drive!
