  1. Hi,

I downloaded an avi movie from Kazaa and I want to convert it to VCD format so I can play it on my dvd player.
I tried using AVI2VCD program but it gave me an error that my AVI file uses compressed audio and it cannot encode compressed audio. How do I solve this problem? And would I need alot of hard drive space for encoding avi files? I only have about 100 megabytes left on my pc.

    Thanks,
    Owen

  2. The space problem really depends on the length of your movie. Anything bigger than 30mins and I think you'll run into problems though. You'll need to open the video in virtualdub, the file>save wav. Chances are the audio will be mp3 so this needs turning into a proper wav file (you may need to rename the file made by vdub). You can find out what type of audio is in your video by opening file>file information in vdub, it will tell you there. Then you need to use that audio file as your audio source. If you can't specify a seperate audio source in avi2mpg then you'll need to open up vdub, open your video. go to the audio menu and select wav audio, locate that wave file made earlier and then select direct copy in both audio and video menus. then save the avi.
