Tried to make a backup of a movie i had and the first thing i did
was read this forum for about a week.
I downloaded shrink and decrypter and used nero 6 but the
first 3 +r wouldn"t work.
I download clone dvd and used +rw and it worked fine.
so i guess my question is should i stick to +rw even though
they cost more???
writer was nec 2100 ad and the +r was maxell r 4x
Thanks in advance!!!

what do you mean wouldn't work? on standalone/pc? would it even read the disc? the rw+s shouldn't be particularly better and you shouldn't have to stick to them for regular burning...
With all due respect... and there is respect... -
First you need to eliminate the variables.
Take the +RW that works and copy it to a +R and see if your player can play that. Check the DVD players link on the left for your model and see what media it can handle.
Also try the +R disks in other players. Take em to a large store that'll let you play them there as a test to see what DVD Player you want.
You changed media and software at the same time so either could have been the problem.
If you intend to do many movies and it turns out to be that the DVD player can only read +RW not +R it'll save money in the long run to get a different player.
Good Luck -
Sorry,I guess i didn't give a lot of information.
The dvd player is a APEX AD1010w and when i made my first copy
on the +r disk the files are there but the computer ( dell 8300) wouldn't play it and the player said unknown disk..
Next one did the same thing using nero. so i tried cd creator on the next
disk and it doesn't show anything on the disk but says it full.
I tried the +rw with nero and the first one would play on the computer but not in the player..
I use clone dvd on the same rw and this time it work on pc and player
did three since then and all have worked...
