  1. I have been asked to capture some video of a sermon/message. this is not a fast moving movie. Just a guy sitting in a chair talking. I captured using adaptec my sonic dvd, at the lowest setting. I know this isnt the best product, but its what i have. this 2 hrs 20 min turned out to be 4 gb. I used TMPGEnc Plus to reduce it by 50%. Its still to big. and I cant seem to get TMPGEnc to reduce it any more. I want to get it reduced down to 1.5gb. Im not concerned about quality. Im more concerned about fitting several hours onto a dvd. Thoughts??
    Thanks

Change the bitrate manually, settings->bitrate. Calculate here
www.videohelp.com/calc . Select advanced and set the output size to custom and 1500mb.

I would also convert to low resolution dvd 352x240/288(it is dvd compliant) because 720x480/576 will look like crap with so low bitrate (around 1200 kbits).

  3. I downloaded this guide but it seems like tmpgenc is not allowing me to adjust the bps lower than 2000000? Im sure im missing something very simple. Im still new at this type of stuff.

I guess I thought I could reduce it.. and they get the new smaller version and reduce it again. But apparently its not that simple.

If you are in the wizard, exit it.

Change the bitrate manually by clicking the settings button.
    If in doubt, Google it.
