  1. i hate to do it, cuz i know its been done..but i have to ask because anything i saw stated in the other posts helped.

i have an AMAZING QUALITY shrek...its in avi format...like 650mb.....ive been makin vcd's for a while now (probably about 40 in all) but never from an avi (always from a dvd). So heres the deal..im assuming TmpgEnc is the way to go.....

so i load it up in the video slot and it automatically loads itself in the audio slot (like you would expect)

    set my output...

    hit encode....and i get this

"An error has occured when audio is decoded"

    anyclue?

im dloading the krystal studio pack codec....(even though i already have them installed...im gonna try again)

i have no problem playing the clip...but i dont know whats up

    lemme know
my bad for the repeat topic

  4. Whoops - sorry about the blank reply - had a password problem.

I just did exactly what you did. I found a HQ Shrek in DivX format that I wanted to move to SVCD so the family could watch. I did the following

    1. Ran it through VirtualDub to reencode the sound from 48Khz to 44.1Khz. I had problems with the original sound
    2. Use TMPGENc to make the appropriate MPEG2 files
    3. VCDEASY (gui to a VCDImager and CDRGAO) to make the files to burn to the VCD
    4. Burnt them
Worked out fine except there is a slight loss of sync in the sound
