It's probably DiVX and you're prabably lacking a codec, go to tools and look for a DivX codec...

TMPG> options> enviromental settings> VFAPI. Set directshow file reader to highest priority.

  5. thanks guys for replying!
i have no problem watching the movies on my pc. i just want to convert them to vcd so i can watch them on by dvd player. Last night i downloaded the old version of tmpeg it seem to work , it converted it to mpg1, but when i try using cd creator platinum edition to make the vcd it would accept it.

thanks again guys for the help , still need help though!

What speed are you burning with..?
Some players get trippy when burning VCD on speeds higher than 4x...
You could try VCDEasy provided at this site, it gives you standard VCD + Menues and such and it also burns for you if you download the version with CDRDAO...

    Hope it helps!

  7. you have to make sure the mpeg is in vcd compliant state. Have you loaded one of the templates provided in tmpeg ie palvcd or ntscvcd templates, just a thought. Also nero is good at burning to vcd as it does alot better job & puts in the correct files to play on a home dvd player.

    Kev!
