    I keep having a problem With Ulead DVD Movie Factory 3 crashing on Rendering my final disk. Any help would be great. I keep getting the message, DVDMF3 has encountered a problem and must shut down.

    Do you have mtion menus? I've found that Ulead products crash on motion menus if they aren't just right.

  4. Are you creating DVD folders on your hard drive first, or are you burning directly to disk? I suggest creating the folders on your hdd first, then burn to disk.

    Ulead DMF crashes for me a lot. On my system I found that if I never use the slider bars in the video windows, if I make multiple saves while working on a project, and if I create DVD folders on the hard drive first, then I can usually keep it from crashing.

    (Whatever happened to Specialist? I haven't seen his posts regarding Ulead products in a long time.)
    That's my opinion, and if you don't like it, I'll change it.

    Another thing: Are your videos DVD compliant when you import, or do you have DMF3 encode them? I have had many crashes involving re-encoding also.

    Yes, i have created folders on my harddisk for it to be exported to, and i am not even writing to disk yet. Also, the files are already converted to mpeg2 or already from dvd... it's in the encoding for the title index, it crashes. Also, this happens with TMPGEnc and other converting programs..... i tried updating my windows, and the same. I also updated Directx, but the same. I have a feeling it could be a windows problem, but i can't imagine what it could be.....any other suggestions??? Thanks for all the responses so far....

    The latest updated was supposed to fix all bugs, contact Ulead and Pegasys and inquiry them about the problem;

    If you have fullfilled all SYSTEM'S REQUIREMENTS of both softwares, they have to work properly, if they don't, it's because they're buggy;

    I don't know about Pegasys but Ulead uses to release bug fixes frequently upon request

    Thanks Zetti,
    I contacted Ulead and they said to reinstall everything. I did that, and now the avi and DVD imports will go through. But i am still having trouble with .wmv files. but i will try some other stuff with that. i think i might uninstall all DVD stuff i have on my cpu and reinstall what i use. Thanks again. And if anyone has any other suggestions........let me know.

  10. Ive tried the demo of Moviefactory 3.. I added the patches... the only time it works is if your file sizes are under 350 megs.. if the files are larger the program crashes (everytime) when rendering to dvd image.. basically its a piece of crap unless you want to use it to make little family videos out of clips or make a cartoon disk for the kids. It just plain doesnt work on large files. also it does degrade the video even when set to best.
    (not good if your transferring vhs tapes to dvd). The program looks good and has all the buttons and whistles for a home video producer.. but its missing the key element of functionability.. Love to see a company do something like this and have it work... the best feature is being able to use mpeg 1 to make dvds without transcoding.. at least it works with sitcoms and cartoons that are not over 350 megs in size.
