  1. Does anyone have experience with the new DVD recorders. They claim you can take digital video directly from your camcorder to the recorder and record the same as if doing a VHS. My question is this true? If it is, does it capture the date?

    Pros and Cons?

    Thank you,

If the recorder has a firewire input (not all of them do) then it will accept digital input directly from a DV camcorder. Ease of use and 2 hrs. of good quality video are the advantages. As for negatives, editing your footage can be a problem but there are several programs out now that accept dvd video.
