to take a screenshot:
some apps have a built in button for saving a screenshot to file (such as dvdinfopro) but mostly what you need to do is press the "print screen" button and then open your favourite picture editing software (even windows "paint will do) and paste it there - the screenshot is already on the clipboard - just press "paste".
to put a picture in your post browse in the section below where you write the actual post: it says upload image - browse and find your image and then write in the post *img*filename.gif*/img* filename.gif being the picture you selected when browsing. replace * with bracket [ or ] .
that should do the trick. With all due respect... and there is respect... -
ok thanks....

I have dvdinfopro but when I hit the save current view it saves the infopro view. What I want to do is save a screenshot of a properties info pop up (ie click on jpeg/foleder and click properties), to show someone what I'm having a problem with. So how do I show this?

You can do a PrintScreen and then paste that into your paint program... resize to about 300 or 400 pixels wide ... save to jpg and you are good to go (make sure it is below 50k)... you can adjust the JPG quality to keep reducing the size should that be necessary

On your keyboard above the insert key is a key labeled Print Screen, press it, that copies the active window onto Windows clipboard, then press control then the v key to paste it .....

And to capture just the active window or app (instead of the whole desktop) press the ALT key while pressing Print Scrn
