    Hello,
What type of movie files are you using? Avi, mpeg? Make sure it's in mpg2 with 48000 hz audio for dvd compliant files. If your using a capture card make sure your using its pre configured dvd settings for the proper output.
Please post more detail so others may suggest a better approach.

    Hello,
How do you burn them? Do you use a full author program to do it for you? Or do you burn the vobs yourself? Make sure the vobs are in a video_ts folder and you burn that folder (put in d:/video_ts or whatever drive your burner is). Hope this helps.

P.S. Also, if you have an old settop player it might not like the recordable dvds. If you have a dual format burner try some + r discs.

  6. i use tmpge dvd author to author the vob files and burn them using nero 6.3.1.15

  7. Media ID's or Mfg's of the media you've tried?

I've noticed freezing / skipping is mostly attributed to bad media and then secondly to MPEG vs PCM Audio -- some players don't like MPEG1L2 Audio and want to see LPMC Audio streams. You may want to try PCM audio once to see if that helps.

    Hello,
Why don't you try using tmpgenc dvd author to burn the vobs for you? Go through your setup procedures, let it author the vobs, then click ok to burn the vobs with tmpgenc dvd author. Maybe you'll get better results using one program for the whole process. Good luck.

P.S. Also, with nero do you do disc at once to make a final dvd?

  10. i didnt stick a label on the disk ive done that before lol. yes i use disk at once in nero i have also used tmpge dvd author to burn the disk too and still the same. the only thing i can think of now is the media but ive tried different brands. i'll use PCM audio this and see if that helps. PS i only have motion search set to normal do u think it would make a difference if i set it too a higher quality

  11. you can also try slowing down your burn speed.

if you normally burn at 4x, try burning at 2x and see if that helps.

  12. This might be a dum question, but... Are your source files perfect or do they freeze too? Before burning, have you tried to play the vob file on your computer, prior to burning, to check and see if it freezes/breaks up on the same spot as it does on the DVD?

Unless you do Quality Control on DVD+-RW, consider Quality Control on the source files, encoded files, or at the very least the authored files...coasters can be expensive.

  14. There's lots of discussion of this in the media thread. But in short, for the bestest quality discs go Taiyo Yuden, can be found cheapest at rima.com, or in ten packs of fujifilm dvd-r media that says made in japan on it. For a reliable budget media, a lot of people are leaning towards prodisc it seems. But the once king of budget media is ritek, their quality lately seems questionable, I personally don't know if it batch related or not. Ever since I got a two crappy spindles, I started using Maxwell's and have been smiling.
    Blah, blah, blah

  15. I'm using Khyper recently...it's cheap...but my primary batch is some generic brand that has no name at all...
