I have a dvd which I would like to put the music on it on a cd so i can play on my stereo.
Is it possible to do this and what software woud I need??

use virtualdub to extract the audio into a wave file.
use musicmatch to burn the wave files to cd. -
An alternative approach which is useful if the original is a music DVD:
1. Use DVD Decrypter (or whatever) to rip the DVD, with the option set to split vob files at every chapter. for a music DVD this will give you a vob file for each song.
2. Run each vob (or those that you want on your CD) through DVD2AVI.
3. Use the WAV files from the above (now one wav for each song) to compile an audio CD using any number of applications.
At stage 2 you can rename the wav files and number them to make compiling easier. -

It's a U2 dvd so not sure how it wil turn out.
