  1. Other people have been able to run DVDx on WinXP machines. But both a buddy and I are unable to get it working.

Is anybody aware of the secret ingredient?

I install DVDx as instructed in the readme, open the DVD root, select the ifo file and DVDx proceeds to crash at that point, every time I try.

It seems like a budding program that is already pretty impressive and getting better - I just want to try it out...

    Any help greatly appreciated.

  2. I installed DVDx on a clean install of Windows XP and it works perfectly, there was nothing extra installed on my machine before hand, the only thing I can suggest off the top of my head, is to make sure you have all the latest drivers on your computer as with various other programs I had lots of troubles with XP until I updated all my drivers (motherboard chipset, video, sound etc). Do you rip the DVD first or convert straight off the DVD, I convert straight of the DVD with a 100MB RAM buffer, this hasn't caused any damage to my DVD drive, so far , another suggestion if you do get it working try the LSX encoder plugin, it is REALLY fast.

  4. Any common links (hardware) you can think of between your PC and your friends PC???

No trouble with any other software on these PCs???

  5. Nothing I can think of. I was on the WinXP beta so I've been running it a long time, I don't have problems with any other software/hardware - just DVDx.
