I'm just trying to convert AC3 to MP2. I installed BeSweet, BeSweet GUI, and tooLame. I set up tooLame to use 192 CBR, but the output of BeSweet GUI is always 128 CBR MP3 instead of 192 CBR MP2!

    Here is the log:

    BeSweet v1.4 by DSPguru.
    --------------------------
    Using azid.dll v1.8 (b825) by Midas (midas@egon.gyaloglo.hu).
    Using lame_enc.dll v1.28 (4/6/2002), Engine 3.92 <http://www.mp3dev.org/>.

    A few observations:

    1. It is not using tooLame at all, it is apparently using lame_enc.dll.
    2. I have no control whatsoever over the encoding parameters of lame_enc.dll.
    3. I seem to have no control over whether it uses tooLame or lame_enc.dll...it always uses lame_enc.dll.
    4. the command line clearly specifies "-toolame( -m s -b 192 -e )", and yet tooLame is not used.
    5. the log doesn't give any indications of an error...BeSweet just creates a completely different than expected output...this is very bad, the output file doesn't even have the correct extension.

Don't know if it'll help, but you're running an old (1.4) BeSweet ... try updating to the latest (1.5b29) & see what happens.

Also, try the BeLight GUI instead - I find it A LOT easier to use!

  4. I just did what you are suggesting.

I don't know what happened but it just and only use the MP2Enc even if I specify 2Lame as the encoder.

Edit: oh wait, sorry didn't noticed you said BeLight for the GUI gotta give a try,

Click on 2lame and change 128 to 192 for total bitrate, then click back on besweet, just curious why you are encoding to mp2 from ac3 when you have a dvd burner.
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.

Try using ffmpegGUI to convert ac3 to MP2.

The thread starter posted this 7 months ago. It makes little sense to reply in this thread now.
Sorry, I had to go see about a girl

Also toolame offers better quality than libavc's mp2 encoder. Probably also azid does a better downmix.
