I have just edited my first practice dvd with tmpgenc....made a menu....no problems.
Only thing I did'nt like is when I was playing through the videos there is no sound......some of the things I want to edit will require that I hear what is going on as well as seeing it.
Is there a way to have the sound play as well as the video when editing.
BTW I am using VOB files. These are files from my dvd camcorder.
Thanks,
Andy

You will not get sound in preview mode when it is AC-3 audio.
However I think I read that if you purchase the AC-3 "plug-in" for TMPGEnc DVD Author that you will get sound in preview mode for videos with AC-3 audio.
Perhaps someone else can confirm this?
I have another AC-3 encoder that I use so I have no need for the AC-3 "plug-in" which is basically sold as an AC-3 encoder BUT if you can hear sound in preview mode with it then yeah that would maybe make it worth it.

FulciLives, you are correct. The ac-3 plug-in is required to preview ac-3 audio in TMPGEnc DVD Author. It is somewhat processor-intense and will sometimes mute or stop on my gutless PIII 850 system. I appreciate all of your excellent posts.

Thanks guys....I have acquired the plug-in but it is not working.
The sound player the comes with the ac-3 plugin is working but nothing has changed in tmpgenc dvd.
When you click options...about in tmp dvd there is supposed to be an ac-3 symbol and 2 more options in the enviornmental setting....none of these are showing up.
I am sure I installed everything right...don't really think you can do it wrong.
Any idea what the problem might be?
Thank You. -
I am assuming that you have the license code for the ac-3 plug-in. As I recall the ac-3 plug-in needs to be installed after dvd author. You might want to try to remove both dvd author and plug-in and re-install both. When I updated TMPEnc DVD author it lost "sight" of the ac-3 plug-in. Removing and reinstalling got them working together again. Good luck.

BUT....I uninstalled with add/remove programs in control panel...and made sure the directories were deleted as well.
But when I reinstalled and went to load another video it still remembered the last directory that I opened....so for some reason there is a part of this program still there ....something in the registry perhaps???
So if this is the case then perhaps that is why it is not working...
How can I be certain that this is completely deleted??
Thanks

I just did a clean install of TMPGENce DVD Author...it works fine.
Installed the AC3 plugin.
I dont have the 2 extra options in the enviornmental settings widow
and I don't have the AC3 symbol in the About box.
I have tried it a few times already. Before the last time I made sure
there was absolutely nothing in the resistry about Pegasys/TMPGEnc.
I know it was completely deleted this time because I had to enter my serial...unlike the last 3or4 reinstalls.
But it still does not work.
I have sound while working with DVD Workshop 2 but I prefer to edit the video with TMPGEnc.
Any ideas what the problem could be??? -
I also have the same problem
. hopefully we can get some help here
nevermind the solution is to PAY for the software instead of stealing it. Once i PAYED for it and got a valid code everything works dandy so try that.
