OK, I apologize in advance for this post.
What are DV1 and DV2 formats?
What are the differences?
Equipment:
PC = ECS K7S5A , AMD 1.4GHz , 256MB DDR , gForce2 MX 400 , SIIG DV card
Camera = Panasonic PV-DV601 (miniDV)
DVD = Panasonic DVD-RV31R-U
Software:
Win2000 & XP (NTFS on all drives)
Capture Video from camera with VideoWave 4
Edit video with VideoWave 4
Convert Video with TMPGenc 2.01
Problem:
When editing with VW4 and dumping out to a single AVI file the audio gets WAY out of sync. (audio gets farther and farther ahead of the video)
Solution: I dump each segment of video to a separate AVI – If I go back and try to join them into a single file (with VW4) the same problem with audio occurs.
Problem: When I compress each segment and then join the MPEG files with TMPGenc, the resulting file does not play smoothly in my DVD player.
Each segment file plays fine, but I get a 5 second pause @ each break when VCD is created with separate files.
I tried to use VirtualDub to do the editing, but it says “xxxx.avi is a type 1 DV file and VDUB can not multiplex the audio. The video can be edited but there will be NO AUDIO.”
What are Type 1&2 DV? What are the differences? Can I convert my files to Type2 and edit them with VDUB? Will that correct the audio problem?
HELP!!!!!!
