Hey,
Ive formatted my pc, I go to add new hardware in the control panel, and insert the drivers disk I get with my pc.
Theres lots of hardware with question marks next to it...for example:
'Video controller'
When I try to get it to find the drivers for it...it comes up 3 different ones for me to choose...
This happens with all the hardware with question marks on it, when i get it to find the drivers...it always gives me a list of the drivers it finds for me to choose which one to install, but I don't know which ones to pick!
Help please,
Thanks

do you still have the manifest for the computer? in some cases they'll list the hardware there.
Look on the manufatures site for your model and it'll most likely tell you there
Take the case off and look at the different parts to find the models numbers for each.
I usually always install drivers in this oreder
Motherboard chipset driver
ATA driver if required
Video card driver
Audio card driver
Modem driver
Network card driver
Then any other things that don't fit the list.
You might also want to use your recover disk and the other partition to restore you PC to what it was. Write down all the hardware models in the device manager, then reformat and install the stuff

You have yet to really say what type of computer and make it is, so I will go on a hunch....
Sounds like windows installed a generic chipset for your motherboard. Try installing the motherboard (chipset) drivers for your specific system.
Also on a hunch I would say your system has an Intel chipset, but I could be wrong.....afgain refer to the order I usually install drivers. The motherboard (chipset) driver is the most important.

Ive done that, but no infections came up.
But the thing that got me worried was my firewall came up someone was trying to connect to me using sub7, but that usually meens its on the computer.
