I use a WinTV PVR capture card that creates MPEG2 files. I would like to convert some files to MP4. DivX is far too slow while Nero Digital seems to be quite fast. But Nero Recode uses DVD as source only, no files.
So how can I convert MPEg2 files to Nero Digital MP4 format?

Hey, i didn't notice that but your right. It looks like the only option is to Author your MPEG-2 files as DVD, and then load into Recode.
So much for saving time. -
I've tried that route, authoring to DVD and then attempting to encode with Nero Digital, but when I open the DVD in ND, I don't get audio. Anyone able to make this work?
(Capturing with PVR-250 and then authoring with Ulead Movie Factory) -
I have a PVR-250 but I use VirtualDubMpeg to convert to XVID (MPEG 4). I think you'll find that speed depends more on the setting used than on the encoder.

Yes I've been doing that too, encoding my mpeg files to Xvid with virtualdub, but I have some DVD's that I authored and no longer have the mpeg's for that I now want to encode to either xvid or ND and no matter what I try (dvd2avi, autogk, virtualdub, Divx, recode..) I can't seem to get the audio. Haven't spent a long time on this as it's not the end of my world if I can't do it...just wanted to be able to.
