  1. This is the first post for me here .. so ... Hi to everyone !

Usually I try not to compress the main title if possible and most of the times I succeed that.
I use , DvdShrink , Titleblanker , menuedit and Ifoedit.
Sometmes though Even after removing everything and blanking the rest of the VOBs , I need to remove just some of the end titles at the end of the movie so that no compression is needed.
I tried VobBlanker , but somehow it does not adjust the Video_ts.IFO so as to show the new size of the main movie.
So the resulting DVD has problems.
Any experience with Vobblanker or any program that works better , or any alternative method ? to adjust the size of the main movie keeping the rest of the titles ?

    Thax

  2. Have you tried DVD SHRINK ?

It allows you to edit / crop the credits/titles etc so as to minimise the compression required. Naturally you can also include or exclude menus, extras, subtitles and audio tracks to suit.

you cannot keep functional menu's & extras with DVDShrink's reauthoring mode

you can keep menu's and main movie or whatever is in that VTS though as there is a guide to do this (noki posted it somewhere)

  4. Well , I dont have Dvdremake , which from what I have read does everything , but I think that by adjusting the indicated size of the altered vob shown in Video_TS.IFO must do the trick.
A free program , Vobblanker , states that it does that automatically , but it does not.

Anyone has a simple solution to alter the size of the main movie (mainly cut the end titles) keeping the menu etc ? and retain DVD compatability with DVD players ?

    thanx

A roundabout sort of way would be to continue to use VOBBlanker, THen rin the IFO through IFOEdit and press "Get VTS Sectors". I think this should check the VOBs and update the IFOs accordingly.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  6. Done that ,
but it seems that Ifoedit is fooled by the wrong info shown in Video_TS.IFO

    working on that though

If you change the size of the vob files, by cutting credits for example, then you need to run IFOUpdate. That will take care of everything for you.

I do what you suggest all the time. Here's the easy way. Run DVD Shrink in Reauthor mode and load the titleset for your main movie. Use its in and out points to cut the credits. Have it output to a totally new directory. Rename these vobs, if necessary, to match their original titleset number. (Main movie may be VTS_04_01.vob but Shrink will output as VTS_01_01.vob)

Now copy these vob files back into your original VIDEO_TS directory. Overwrite all of the old ones.

Then just run IFOUpdate and you're done.

  9. Ifoupdate worked ,
I tried the final DVD while still on the hard disk through IfoEdit.
Everything worked fine except the subs , which were s bit mixed up.
No prob though since I can always leave them there.

    Thanx to everyone

You have to properly set up IFOUpdate the first time you use it. Just set it as shown at the bottom of this guide. http://www.doom9.org/mpg/doitfast-guide.htm

My guess is that you have the copy audio and subpictures tables checked. This will overwrite the subtitle information in your original IFO, with whatever is in the new one.
