I have been anoyed with the XtreamLOK error for a long time now. It happens when I open some AVI files and it even happens when I visit some web pages. I have found at least in one case it was happenig when I didnt have AC3 audio filters installed. Some files will play on oe computer and not aother and some will even play o the same computer i one player and not another. In a few rare cases I have been able to open a file in VideoDub, re-encode it, and then play it fine. I am covinced it has to do with my filters/codecs or lack thereof. At the extreme of de-installing and then re-installing all of my codecs and possibly even system, is there any way to be rid of it?
I am also convinced that it is caused by my ATI drivers, as my other computer has nVIDIA card and never generates the error, and the same file that generates XtreamLOK in WMA on one will actually generate a WMA error stating that a codec is missing (that is where I found out the one case of AC3 filter).
