  1. I was curious,i ve seen various Ritek G04,but never this one. I bought 2 batches of 25,one was fine,in the other till now it seems that 3 of them have some problem in the very same area causing interrupted audio during playback. In Nero DVD Speed they show fine and in KProbe PI is about 20 and PO max 3 ,usually in single spikes.

    Could they be fake Riteks???

  4. They are most defenitly genuine Ritek media, they have been abailable here in Australia for some time now. They are the only form of Riteks available here that I'm aware of. It was only Ridata that was avilable before. Myself and friends have used many spindles of them and yet to have a problem with one of them.

    Cheers,

  5. I've used quite a lot of those here in the UK and can't report any problems with them.

The occasional spike shouldn't cause you any problems, though - if it's in the same place all the time, are you sure it's the disc ? Even a good quality pressed disc will have errors on it to some degree that require hardware error correction, so I wouldn't be so quick in pointing a finger at the disc if it were me.

  6. Thanks.I was beginning to worry.THe problem is maybe a bad batch. I had 3 discs in a row that show interrupted video and audio playback.Well, the audio is more frustrating. They all show it in the same point. To be sure i made a second copy of a DVD rip and it had the problem at the very same point. However,if the film was copied from the Ritek to the HD, there was no such issue and all was fine. Strange. I tried two different media players and 2 readers (liteon 166S and Pioneer 107) and in all cases the film had problem in the very same area. Another film i backed up had also problem more or less in that position (calculatind time from the start of the film).

Anyway, thanks a lot. They do seem very good in all tests so i can't explain how this happens.I even have a freshly installed Win XP ,,i don't know what to think.
