    Hey everyone,

Though I have pretty little experience, I do concert filming for bands, and so I have a few questions regarding the audio that I hope some people could answer for me.

    1. I got the soundboard out into my camera, and the mix ended up having the vocals a bit high and the guitars a bit low. Is there any way with FCP or an audio program out there to fix this problem?

    2. I could only get a mono out from the board into my XLR adapter, but I had forgotten to switch the adapter to Mono and instead kept it on Stereo, so I have the audio only going through the right channel. How can I copy the audio from the right channel into the left channel within FCP?

    Thanks,
    David

FCP isn't really made for stuff like this, or at least not that I've ever seen. It does wonders for video, but leaves a lot of the audio up to other programs. Perhaps you should look into Logic. It may be able to do what you are wanting.

You should be able to select everything in the channel and copy and paste it into the left channel.

Thans for the help, and I do apologize, but could you go into more detail about how to copy the audio? I probably sound like a newb, and I am in FCP, but I couldn't seem to figure out quite how to do that when I tried to copy the one channel to the other channel in the program. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    David

  4. yeah, ok here we go- Audio for FCP is good though (but I don't wanna argue.. it can do what you need it to do). The levels thing is a pain, but doable (for that I'd just run to Barnes and Noble and sit down with a FCP book for about a minute and learn the leveling options for tweaking sound,

but for mimicing the L and R channel: Below the video, there is a similar timeline for Audio. There will be 2 channels L and R (obvious) You need to highlight the audio clip present. or just click on it. Hit edit, copy. and paste the sound in the other line that has no audio and make sure they start and stop at the same time or you will have sync issues.

Also- you may need to pull the little tab on the left side from the line that has audio to the line that doesn't. ( should be like A1 to A2- i'm not in front of my computer right now or I'd be more specific). If you still need help after this just re- post. Later
