Hey all, after I convert from DivX/XVID/OGM/MKV to SVCD I get a greyish background where it should be black (difficult to describe but it's almost like a grey mist or spattering effect layed over the black) I use TMpgenc for all my conversions, any specific filter I should be using?? All suggestions appreciated and considered!

you are changing 0 IRE to 7.5 IRE ..
what are you goign to play this back on ? if a tv ... what you have is correct ..
if not a tv but a pc , change the setting in tmpgenc"Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -
Thanks BJ, I play these on a TV after converting, so no filter you can think of to clear up that grey background? Should I expect this when converting from those sources?

the "grey" will look black on a tv .....
think of a tv "black" starting at a higher point than "real" black"Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650)
