  1. Guys searched everywhere and cant seem to find the solution pls help.

I'm using Nero6 with all latest plugins and codecs, writing to a 4.7gb DVD.

Nero is telling me file size is 4.48gb but that its too big for the normal dvd.

My understanding is 4.48gb should fit.

    What am i missing?

    thanks for any help

EDIT: Damn you guys type fast.

A single layer blank DVD actually only holds 4.37GB, which is equal to 4,700,000,000 bytes. The discrepancy between the actual size of the data on your hard drive and the size listed on the blank disk is because computers store data differently and manufacturers choose to list the higher "looking" of the two numbers.

If you right click on all the files you want to burn and view the properties you will see that they actually exceed 4,700,000,000 bytes.

My preference for determinging whether my project will fit on the blank is to open the VIDEO_TS.IFO in IFOEdit and hitting file/check dvdr size (something like that). It will tell you exactly how many MB over or under you are.
