  1. Is it possible to split a BIG movie file, encode it into MPEG format, so that it can be made into a VCD, then join all the small pieces again?

I will use HJSplit to split the files into small *.001, *.002, etc.

Then rename all of the small files to something like, mpeg.

Use TMPGEnc to encode the small renamed files to a correct MPEG format so that it can be made into a VCD.

After encoding all the files, then use HJSplit again to join em up to become a BIG file again, only this time it can be made into a VCD

I was kinda wondering if this would work since my computer's too slow to encode a really huge file even if i leave it for days. I'm kinda hoping someone would clarify this and tell me if theres any problems with it before i try it first hand.

    All replies welcome!

  2. use virtual dub or any other video spliting program depending on what type of movie file it is to split the movie.

split it in how many parts u wish

use tmpg to encode each part to mpeg

then use tmpg to merge the files
