I am trying to take programs recorded on a Panasonic DMR E80 HDD/DVD Recorder and subsequently dubbed to the SD Card in MPEG4 Format, and play them o convert them. I have tried the Windows Media Player Default MPEG4 Decoder, and the Free DIVX Decoder/Player. In all cases after 2 or three minutes playback stops with a corrupt file error. I have tried SuperFine and Medium Quality and also two programs but to no avail.
I am trying to work out if anyone elsoe has seen this and whether Panasonic are encoding in such a way as to limit compatibility to their own portbale playback devices or whether there is a fix for this.
Thanks in advance.

I have a panasonic dmr-e30. I record to dvd-ram discs and then use ffmpeg to convert the resulting vro file to whatever I need. The quality is quite good. I'm not sure if this helps you at all but I could see no other panasonic owners have jumped in yet. Hopefully you will hear more
