  1. I have several different avi's at different framerates(29.970-30.10), I've managed to use VirtualDub to change the framerate to 30.0FPS, and each clip plays fine, audio is still in sync, problem is when I do the Open Avi->Append Avi Segment with all the files, they all join up BUT the audio midway becomes out of sync by about a 1 second(seems gradual) I really need help in joining these xvid's into one file.

The whole purpose is to turn the multiple xvid parts->1 xvid avi->mpeg2 file (I have 13 avi's to reconstruct)

I don't mind going through several steps as long as I get 1 file that's in sync, tried EO Video/AviJoiner/VirtualDub/Ulead Media Studio to no avail :P

what's the best way to either create a single in-sync avi? or go straight to mpeg2???

    please help!

  2. Well I searched the forums, sem to come up with alot of possible solutions but no real set way Anh no one replied to my post

I've managed to convert each avi segment to the same frame rate, and they all work in sync as seperate parts, but when I join them, I get progressive audio desync middle of way...

I need to convert this file to mpeg2, how can I fix the audio desync? should I do it before, or convert to mpeg2, then fix the problem?

  3. Why not encode the project in two parts. If the audio is slightly shorter than the video on the part immediately preceeding the synch problem, then TMPGEnc will fill with silence.

What MPEG-2 encoder are you using?

After that, there would be no difference in length between the audio and video. You can join the resulting files (safer than cutting MPEG-2), or create separate tracks with the post track pause set to zero.
