  1. Hello, let me start by saying any help given is very appreciated.I have an ac3 audio file that will not convert to wav by any means I know of.I normally would use headac3he but that comes up with stream errors. The file however plays fine on a software dvd player.I searched for ways to fix the problem but every program I tried failed (ac3tool, besliced, besplit, ac3machine).I would consider it a lost cause except that it plays fine through the software dvd player. When trying to fix it I get either crc error or sync errors. Also if it helps diagnose the problem when loaded in any other program but the software dvd player the time shows up as 8 minuets instead of over an hour.
    Thanks ,
    Jason

P.S. it did not come from a video so re de-multiplexing is not an option.

If the error you get in Headac3he in "read less bytes than expected" then you can fix this by setting the end frame to one less than it says in the field. If thats not the error then i'm stumped.

  4. Thanks for your suggestions.

To Bugster:I just tried it and it gave me a ton of errors about frames.

To Grimey:Thats not the error it gives, it gives a "bad syncword error". Tried your Idea anyway and still no luck

But did it fix the file?

  6. Afraid not, the file after words sounded like a scratched cd, or if you had pushed fast foward, alot of skipping.
