I have got a rare Cricket match on DVD's copied from Dish Network. One of my friends is asking me to lend him the DVD's so that he can lend it to one of his friends who wants to watch the match. I don't want his friend to copy this and sell these on ebay or somewhere. So is there anyway to put copy protection(like the film companies put macrovision) to these DVD'S? Before giving it to him? I know there are free programs like DVD SHRINK AND DVD DECYPTER that removes the protection. My need is to prevent copying with retail software like Sonic record now, Ulead, Nero and Roxio (Software that cannot copy commercial DVD'S). Can this be done? If so how? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check here
Basically, don't lend it to your friend, since you can't trust him (to lend it out to another friend).
Simply have him over to watch the match, or bring it y his place and take it back when you leave.
Or do a pre-emptive strike and sell t on eBay yourself

I think if you search the forums you will find it can be done but....its not cheap and as you say can be beaten.
Could always make another copy yourself and put some nasty scratches on the disk to prevent the copying of your lent disk....Not bothered by small problems...

Wow, is it time for the weekly "Can I stop people from copying my DVDs?" post already? Time flies.
First of all, for crying out loud, use the search box-that's what it's there for. This question has been asked 1000 times. Ninety nine percent of the time it ends in a flame war.
Secondly, if a multi-billion dollar industry can't stop people from copying thier pressed DVDs it would seem pretty obvious to me that you (or anybody else) don't stand a chance in hell of doing this.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm getting a little sick of this question. Can't we make this a sticky?

split the dvd onto 99 disks .. each with a different frame rate and field order and resolution and max bit rate with random amounts of 4 gigs of filler material before and after the acual content that only the menu will jump to the right spot .. you can stick on there 8 tracks of audio with only one being the correct one which can be set up so only the correct one plays if you hit the correct menu button ...
