Dear friends,
Can anyone tell me if there is a propietary or third party software I could control my DVR-7000 with my mac over firewire?. Like if it is an external dvd burner.
Thanks for your help,
Quirilio

Interesting idea.
Aside from importing and exporting DV video and providing some basic control of a DV camcorder I don't expect that Pioneer included any other capability with the Firewire port. What kind of control do you want to do from your Mac? -
Well, for instance play with the settings, and/or controls (play, record etc.) Or at least have information on process.
thanks,

I can understand your interest in this possibility. Tivos and Replay TVs can be programmed over the internet and Tivo also has the home media features that work with OS X. And the EyeTV and EyeHome units are controlled by Macs.
But your Pioneer DVR-7000 does not allow control from external sources via the Firewire port. Here is a statement from the DVR-7000 manual: "You cannot control this recorder from external equipment connected via the DV IN/OUT jack (including two DVR-7000 recorders)."
