  1. I have this problem with the most recent movies I've ripped. Everything seems to be OK during the burning process. When I play the burned discs however, they stop reading after a while, usually after 60-90 minutes. The movie just freezes. I use cheap no-name discs, but they have worked for me before.

I use DVD Shrink and Clone DVD.

What can the problem possibly be?

Thanks in advance for any help!

At a guess the cheap no name media just got worse. Try another band and see if the problem is still there.

  3. Thank you, but I've now tried three different media brands, with the same result. I strongly suspect that there is something wrong with my burner, a NEC 1300A.

Try doing a read test using dvdinfopro on some of your burned media and see if anything is revealed there. If the disks read ok then maybe your home dvd player ( i assumed you were using one, what make/model is it) is having trouble with the media/burns. Have you tried playing them on a software player on your computer?

  6. I've tried discs called SW-Technology, Princo and Platinum. All with the same result. I know, they are all cheap brands, but since all of them have worked fine for me before, I'd say that this is definitely not a media problem.

I've tried the faulty discs on both of my standalone players, and software players, and they behavaved more or less the same in all of the players.

DVD Info Pro reported hundreds of LBA errors after 70 percent of reading.

    I need a drink.

Princo is the highest grade here, and it's low quality.
The other two, EPSECIALLY Platinum, are pure trash.

Cheap media is a gamble that often loses.

Either buy 1 good disc for $1 ... or 10 bad ones for 10 cents each.
In the end, it all evens up.
