  1. I probably didn't say that right but I think you know what I mean. I'm using TMPGEncDVDAuthor and I can't put my movie on a DVD because its 480x480. I already change the audio to 48000hz. Is it a program that change the video?

  2. You would have to re-encode the video to 720x480 before it would be DVD compliant. You can use TMPGEnc or TMPGEnc Plus to do that, then you can use TMPGEnc DVD Author to make the DVD. TMPGEnc Plus has a easy wizard to walk you right through the process.

  3. It is possible (sometimes anyway) to put 480x480 mpegs on a DVD and have them play, though it is non standard and some players may not play them correctly if at all.

If you want to try this, probably the easiest wat is to take a look at SVCDMPGTODVD (I think thats right!).

If you decide to re-encode then 352x480 is DVD compliant and is a better choice when the source is SVCD resolution. Increasing the resolution is not recommended.

  6. If the bitrate is high enough, for example movies up to around 2 hours if encoding at VBR, you can safely size it up. I am very satisfied with the results i had so far. Use Bicubicresize, with blurring if necessary - for ex 0.2, and set ringing to 0.5 or 0.6. If encoding to 4:3 i dont like to use 720x480, 704x480 should be more optimal for keeping aspect ratio when played on TV. And just in case: Syntax for BicubicResize in AviSynth is Bicubicresize(horizontalsize, verticalsize, blur, ring) when working with a single clip.
