I found a hack for my Dansai1010 DVD player so it can be made region free. But also i found i can turn off macrovision. Just out of interest what advantage would this give me if i switched it off?

macro is copy protection on commercial discs.
With a macro free DVD player you can copy a disc to a DVD Recorder or to VHS.
Also if you lack enough scart sockets on your TV you can send the DVD in via your video . -
Wow
Does that mean i can have the DVD in my bedroom (Tv has no scart socket) or does the video have to have a be plugged into the telly via Scart? -
Your video can go to the TV via the aeriel socket. If it has a scart input on the video you can plug your DVD into that scart and set your video to L1 A1 EXT1 EXT or whatever it calls it and watch a DVD via the video channel on your TV.
