I'm having a bit of a problem with my Pioneer 107D and DVD-RWs.

Every time I burn plain data I get the following errors:

    Illegal Disc
Could not perform end of Disc-at-once
    Burn Process failed

    The log reports:

SCSI Exec, HA 2, TA 0, LUN 0
    Status: 0x04 (0x01, SCSI_ERR)
    HA-Status 0x00 (0x00, OK)
    TA-Status 0x02 (0x01, SCSI_TASTATUS_CHKCOND)
    Sense Key: 0x05 (KEY_ILLEGAL_REQUEST)

I'm using Verbatim DataLifePlus 4x -RW and another brand (forgot the name as I've just binned them). I've also had a couple of discs which won't erase.

-R and +R burn with no problems. Is it a media / software issue or something more serious?

    Thanks guys.

  2. 90% sure it's media.
i bought new pioneer 107 last week have burned 25 Arita's DVD-R at 8x no coasters and 4 Traxdata DVD+R at 4x with 3 coasters.
they have all failed at "could not perform end of disc at once."
u could try updating firmware but i'm just going to stick to discs that work with it.

  3. have burned a couple of same DVD+ in pioneer 106 and they worked fine.
so probably 107 just bit more fussy about media.
to use firmware or not? that is the question
i'm not coz i've already killer one writer that way

An update: Have installed CopytoDVD and all have burned with apparently no errors.

One disc which would not format with Nero and Alcohol first said it would not erase and then did.

I'm using the latest firmware (patched 1.16), but the error occurred before with both the original firmware and 1.13.
