    Hi!

Does anyone have any news on the release date or reviews of any MINUS dual layer media?

I would like to know your views on PLUS Dual layer media, especially on it's price. How much you think it will fall? I know a number of people who say, they would not trust their data on the second layer. Would you be one of those who will stick to single layer reliable media?

    Thanks

Minus dual layer media? AFAIK, there aren't even any Dual Layer MINUS media burners out yet. Minus DL media will only be released once the burners that can burn them are out.
My opinions may have changed, but not the fact that I am right.

I don't personally have much need for dual layer. I've managed to get every project on single layer for 3 years, kinda hard to teach an old dog new tricks

I went to Best Buy yesterday just to get some Verbatim DL packs to test out the hacked firmware on my NEC 2500, and walked out with everything else but that (New DVD player, new Hard Drive, some compressed air, new printer, 5 DVDs, glossy paper, and a really pissed off girl friend :P ).

Maybe later this week I'll attempt to sneak off and pick up a pack or 2.

The DVD DASH R DL has been real quite here lately. Pioneer was abuzz with the upcoming new model due out 4th quarter this year. But I haven't heard a peep for a few months now. The thing with DVD-R is the commitee has many members, and it takes a while to approve anything. That's the main reason +RW releases new tech so quick, there are fewer members, so less time from paper to product.

DVD-R could be waiting for the media companies to actually produce the media before launching the product. Which is the oposite of +RW, you always have the burner, then months down the road, comes the media.
