  1. Just got a new player for the bedroom yesterday the Pioneer DV-575a.

I must truly recommend it, picture is brilliant for the price, pal and ntsc progressive scan (again incredible at the price) plays every disc on earth including mp3's on dvd's. Best of all plays all divx's also, so no more converting films for in the bedroom, chuck them on a disc and away you go. All for the princely sum of £150

  2. Hmmm, the official specs on the Pioneer site do not mention DVD +R(W) but this page does. Can you confirm this?

It looks like a pretty good player and I am looking to update my main living room player some time soon, it could be a candidate.

Also, is yours multi-region as purchased or is it a remote hack?

  3. Now I am working on what a friend said about the + R RW, i will dig one out and give it a go.

It is Region Free RCE from the box.

OK, you talked me into it.
    I've just ordered one (7.25pm 30/6/04)
lets see when it gets here.
Had to get a new one, my current player is terrible, got it of Bigpockets for £60, it's a Yamada/umax and came with Amp and speakers which ain't too bad and although the player has played everything upto now except divx/xvid, the picture is awful - very saturated.
I await delivery with excitement :P

Your in PAL territory. I need to know what it's worth on the NTSC market in usefulness here. Remember, we still don't know how many sticks are jammed up Hollywood's a**. We've been removing a couple at a time and it still doesn't look like a dent has been made.

answered my question, just one SCART.
I like the styling, reminiscent of Sony decks. what's this all about though?

    Divx Download Information
1.DVD player generates a registration code (8-character) randomly, and stores the code
DVD player can display the code by Initial Menu
2.PC obtains a VOD (Video On Demand) account customer registration on VOD Web Site Service
3.PC downloads video contents and burns to disc registration code input is required
4.DVD player can play the DivX disc decrypt by using the registration code

Yeah I am not sure about all that, I have tried 15 different divx's so far (no xvid's) and I have not encountered this.

  18. Go to www.avforums.com, underneath the banner click visit our sponsors. There are a lot of good ones try leconcepts and if any of them are more expensive get them to price match avland. If they ask you whether they have it in stock say yes.

Also received email from them today stating no stock for 2 to 3 weeks, so it looks like i'll just have to be patient.
