  1. tried to convert 4GB 120Min DVD with DVDX, AutoGK and SimpleDivX.
    DVDX: Video is not clear!
AutoGK & SimpleDivX: Good video quality, but audio not in sync.

    I have a P4 with 512 of RAM.

    Hlep please!

  2. When you are encoding with AutoGK, are you feeding in the original AC3 file as the audio source? If you are feeding it an MP3 created by another encoder, AutoGK won't know what delay to put on the file, and it will have a constant sync problem.

  5. What is the audio source? What is the delay on it? You'll see it written like this:

    "film name AC3 T01 3_2ch 448Kbps DELAY 0ms"

If this fails, can you re-rip the DVD?

  7. Take a look at this thread:

    https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=224804

You can use VirtualDub to adjust the audio sync manually, or a tool called YAAI to do it. See if you can use those to sync up your final AVI.

I have sometimes found that if I delete all the DVD files and rip it again then it will work properly. If all else fails, give this a shot.

I'm not very experienced with sync problems, and I'm pretty much out of suggestions now. Let's see if these new methods do anything.

  8. these are the VOB files that are in my VIDEO_TS folder. for some reason
i can never open the first one (TS) with any conversion tool.

    VIDEO_TS.VOB
    VTS_01_1.VOB
    VTS_01_2.VOB
    VTS_01_3.VOB
    VTS_01_4.VOB

    why?

That's not a true VOB, but more of a navigation aid. What happenes when you try to open the VOBs in Virtual Dub mod when you were asked before?
    Hello.

I have the same problem. You will notice that this only happens with 3_2 AC3 (5.1 Dolby Surround), all 2_0 (2.1 Dolbu Surround) files sync perfectly with Gordian Knot. I would suggest using a different encoding method. In the end I had to resort to encoding with Dr.DivX. This proved to be a real problem as the people at DivX need to be stabbed for not knowing what Direct Stream Copy is.

I tried that, it dosen't seem to work. I think BeSweet may be to blame, a lot of people have problems with it. Try it though, it may work for you. You might have to sync manually with VirtualDub though, if nothing else.
Just wondering, what DVD are you trying to convert?

I was just wondering, a lot of people seem to be having problems with Stargate-SG1 Season 6. You could try FairUse, which is like Dr.DivX except it encodes in DivX or XviD and supports DSC. It does, unfortunatly, cost 10 Euro to download, and it is against the rules to link you to a warez site. You can, however, find the some of the older versions still downloadable for free on www.mondodvd.net
