  1. Hi,

Obviously im new to dvd authoring and i was just wondering what you guys thought would be the best way to do this. I was asked to make a dvd of an exibition that took place. What i got was a 90min DV tape and the camcorder used to take it. I have ripped the video onto my pc using ms movie maker and the raw transfer setting which gave me a 13GB avi file. There isnt that much editing that needs to be done on the video besides maybe some audio sync issues and adjustments. My question finally is whether i should edit the big 13gb file to make the adjustments and then use tmpgenc to encode it down to a single dvd size. Or should i first encode it then edit it? Also at what point do i go about setting the different chapter and scenes? Do i keep it as one big encdoded (dvd size) file and add markers that jump to the specific scenes? Or is it better to cut the file into smaller files each one scene in length and then burn those to dvd? As u can tell im pretty confused

    thx

Your best bet is to edit the video as is, then when you're done editing, convert to DVD-compliant.

After it is compliant, then you can import it into your favorite authoring program (TMPGEnc DVD Author comes to mind) and set the chapter points there, as well as a menu system.
