You might want to try Easy CD-DA extractor. It works on everything I've ever tried it on. I'm using v7.0.

Return it to the store and tell them that the only cd player you have is the CD-RW in your PC

Seriously though, have you tried any programs that can extract to WAV or MP3 ?

Easy CD-DA extractor, CDEX, etc etc ?

I have seen CDs autorun with the Interactual player embedded. Once you say yes to install, you will not be able to copy the CD. You need to cancel anything that its says you need to isntall when you put it in your CD drive.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  8. If it has the autorun protection program and it already installed on your computer, goolge for a way it uninstall it (try "autorun copy protection" or "Bestie Boys copy protection") Otherwise try CDex, if that doesn't do it go for Isobuster. That has always gotten the data for me.

  12. Is this that 'revolutionary' SunnComm copy protection that you can bypass by holding down the 'Shift' key when the disc loads?

AMEN!!! Anything else would cost you your dignity as a consumer. I am sorry but If you don't return it, you are a weenie who is letting the bad guys win.

I personally refuse to buy any CD with this kind of BS, even if it does play.

    P.S.
And if it is your friend's CD, demand HE get a refund.

It does appear that AnyDVD can overcome CD copy protection.
    If in doubt, Google it.

I have Roxio 5.3.4.21 - it has no problems with Copy Controlled CD's. That and CloneCD of course.
