  1. I have tried to encode my dvds with divx 4.12, and dvdx2.2. I have a couple of movies that have audio problems. Sometimes when I load a movie into dvdx I get this error message "Sample not found or audio decoding error. It happens sometimes at beginning or end of movie. Select continue will fill audio buffer with blank. Continue? Yes or No".

My dvds are in perfect condition so I don't know why this happens. If I encode it then I get the blank audio in many places throughout the movie. Is there any way to fix this so that the divx comes out with no problems? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for looking.

  2. I don't know if this will help any or not, but have you checked the audio-bit rate? Is it a constant bit rate or a variable bit rate? If you encode a VBR into CBR or vice-versa it can cause all kinds of issues, and it's a pain in the ass to fix too. I don't even know how to do it.

  3. Thanks for the reply. How do I check the audio bit rate to see if it a constant or variable bit rate? And does anyone know how to encode it correctly so that there won't be any audio problems? Thanks.

Try a different encoding method. I would suggest using Gordian Knot.
