    Hi All,

I have a number of VCD/SVCD movies, and i want to Convert them to DVD. I installed WinAVI, but it wont look at AVSEQ files.

When i start WinAVI it asks for RealMedia and Quicktime codecs. and says "No usable video stream, make sure that the Media player can correctly play both the video and the audio of the file".

I have Windows media player installed (v9) and PowerDVD 5 and Nero 6 ultra with Nero recode.

Windows medai player wont play AVSEQ files ( i have since learnt that its because its not a Windows recognised codec ).The only way i can play them on my P.C. is by using Nero Showtime.

Is there a way i can convert these movbies to DVD format.

Sorry about the long post, and i hope this is the correct forum for this, as i am a total newbie at converting movie files.

    cheers
    linuts

  2. ...try TMPGENC to make "real" mpgs out of your AVSEQ-files first - then WINAVI will look at them :P

TMPGENC : File ... MpegTools ... Merge & Cut (load / ADD your AVSEQ and save as MPEG)
