Wow, at first I thought that the player was not all that great due to the fact that it cannot play SVCD. But hold on to your hats, I encoded a MPEG1 at 2 M Bit/S and had some outstanding playback. I have yet to test the limits of the Mepg 1 decoder on the unit, but it looks like this will be a far better solution than SVCD. Yes I have fewer lines, but I have a hell of a lot less artifacts too. Anyone test the limits of their MPEG1 decoders on their DVD players. Ps, I don’t have to mess with all the baggage involved with MPEG2
