  1. I downloaded a zip folder from medion to drive E(recover) and unziped it to dirve C (boot partition) this created the following files into a folder called 'medion'

    awfl8268.exe
    md8088.bat
    w7048im7.10a

the instructions tell me to boot to dos from cd(which I can do) then

'execute the md8088.bat file which can now be found at partition C: into your specified folder'

only problem is I hav'nt a clue about DOS, can someone put me out of my misery and help out

  2. what is your C: partition formated as? FAT or NTFS?

    if it's FAT
boot the DOS diskette or CD
    type
    C:
    cd medion
    md8088.bat

if NTFS you will not be able to access them from DOS
if so, place those files on a floppy first

boot up from your DOS boot CD?
after boot up place the the floppy in and type
    A:md8088.bat

if you boot DOS from a floppy diskette
after boot up remove the DOS floppy and place the other floppy in and type
    A:md8088.bat

EDIT: you don't actually have a DOS boot diskette/CD lying around?
    Get one here http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm

nope, DOS wont see the NTFS so the first partition is finds it will label C:
