This may sound stupid, but here goes...if DVD's are MPEG2, why can't I just strip the macrovision and use the audio that I want from DVDShrink's VOB files. I don't want to compress a dvd or change anything about it. I just want one file of the original disc. Here is what I've done. DVDShrink my original "movie" with no compression using AC3 5.1 to a folder. Then I used Filemerger to combine the VOB files into one file named "movie.avi". Am I missing something? or is there some other way to do this, make a copy of the original with just one file that every M$ computer will play with out any additional codacs.
